The EU has introduced a variety of policies to increase recycling in the last 15 years. These include specific recycling targets for the waste materials and products in electrical and electronic equipment, end of life vehicles, packaging, batteries, household waste, and construction and demolition waste.
At the same time, promoting recycling offers other important economic and social benefits: generating economic growth; fostering innovation; boosting employment and helping to secure access to critical resources. Taken together, these characteristics mean that recycling has an essential role to play in achieving a major European and global policy priority: the shift toward a green economy that generates prosperity while maintaining a healthy environment and social equity for current and future generations. We believe that innovative and cost-effective methods of recycling are one of the most important areas for development in the modern society. Every industry, community or ecological preserve will benefit from more conscious use and re-use of resources.
